ACTIVITY #1 - DESIGNING WITH TYPE
What You're Going to Do:
Working with Adobe Illustrator:
At the senior comm-tech level, we're leaving Coreldraw behind in favour of Adobe Illustrator - the standard professional program for graphic design. To help you learn the program, your instructor has provided links in your class folder to some valuable Adobe TV training. You will also receive some useful training in class. To visit the Adobe TV page, click the graphic below.
PART 1 - Expressive Text
Choose TWO of the words below (or come up with your own) and create a type-based design that helps illustrate the meaning of the word in some creative way. See sample to the right to help you get started. Think about location of text within the frame, arrangement of letters, etc. to help create strong graphic meaning.
PART 2 - Contrasting Word Pairs
Select TWO of the word pairs below (or come up with your own) and create a type-based design that illustrates the contrasting meaning in some way. Think carefully about using different type styles, placement of text, etc. to convey meaning.
